As a leading merchant in plumbing, heating and cooling Wolseley has supported the trade for decades. It is also the a parent company for almost 20 nationwide brands. Working as the motion designer in their internal studio, I was helping to deliver all aspects of motion graphics material for use across their social platforms, internal comms and promotional material for live installer shows. The studio is often brought in to create material for these other brands. Below is a selection of the campaigns / projects I worked for across Wolseley and the different brands.

The Professionals

This was a fun one. The company was already doing some filmed ads for tv, but in the studio we thought we could do our own video and tie it closer to the original idea of ‘The Professionals’ tv show. I only had access to some photos from the recent branch visit, but no matter…

The original tv titles were my reference to build something of my own. I think this would have resonated nicely with the a few of the older boys and girls in the trade. The music was well suited, and I’ve heard it used in other places now


SOCIAL MEDIA / BRANCH SCREENS / BRANDING

 

Small social media adds like this bring life to the static ads produced for any of the trade magazines we had worked on Often, these would be shared across social channels for in the branch screens. They’re
a valuable way to reach customers in branch and let them know about offers or promotions. Creating a
bit more interest in the ads can lead to click throughs for customer sign-ups.


STUDIO SHOWREEL

This was a bit of a weird one…Not long into my start, the boss decided she wanted a showreel. The thing is, they hadn’t done any motion at all…so I only had a bunch of static projects to work from and they should look like they formed part of already finished motion projects…
The idea would be to produce these quarterly to let both external customers and internal departments know what was going on for the company. I’d suggest this is a way to let them know that as a studio, we could help them in multiple ways to share the projects they were working on.

AZPAVE GEOTEXTILES

This project was still ongoing as I left the business. It had potential to grow into something bigger. It was also my first chance to properly dip my toe into using Blender. I’d been looking to do this for a long time so going to bring it more into my professional work going forward.
